I am a Mechanical Engineer by trade. I have worked in several different industries since I started in 1991…from nuclear power generation to construction to aerospace bearing manufacturing. I enjoy the challenges each of those have brought, but to be honest that is a small part of who I am.
I have four great loves…God, Family, Music and Running. Practically everything I do is motivated or at least influenced by one or more of these things.
Since I was about 10, I have lived a life committed to Christ. My wife and I both are walking through some significant health issues, but our faith is the source of strength that we draw on to not only survive, but thrive. Life is an adventure, and getting to know Christ on a personal level is at the heart of it. I strive every day to help others along this journey as well.
My wife and four children are my greatest treasures. Tania is truely my “better half”. She keeps me in line, motivates me to be a better person and is always there to back me when I need it. My children (Johahna, Christian, Michaela and Zachary) are each a unique gift from God. They have and continue to fill my days with laughter, cartoons, barbies, light sabers and loud music. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Music is certainly my personal passion. At any given moment, if I am awake, there is a song running through my head. Whether I’m leading an entire congregation in worship, or just sitting on the couch in my living room, I love playing guitar and singing as well as listening to anyone else who does so with passion.
In addition to all this, I also enjoy long distance running. my son started me on this path by asking me to help him train for the 2012 Cooper River Bridge Run (10k). Since then, we have run half-marathons, marathons and even a 50K together. You can often find me, trekking through the streets and trails of the low-country chasing endorphins and maybe a new PR.
