Seacoast Worship Recap (05/23/09)

Even though I normally attend church on Saturday night, this worship re-cap is part of the Sunday Setlist Blog Carnival Extravaganza going on over at FredMckinnon.com.  Check out the other worship service re-caps from this week by clicking here.

Another great weekend at Seacoast!  Here’s how things went…..

Call to Worship / Opening Set:

  1. I Am Free  (Jon Egan)
  2. Happy Day (Tim Hughes)

Message:

This weekend, Pastor Jim Miles brought the message.  He talked about “Markers” as 0pposed to “Memories”.   The difference being, a marker always points to something God has done, and strengthens our faith.  Jim is an incredible communicator, and his message tonight was very poignant.  As always, the service ended with communion, but Jim’s tie-in to communion being a marker (actually the most important marker) was very powerful.  If you’re interested, you can download the message from iTunes here (it may be Monday or Tuesday before it is available).

Closing Set:

  1. Once Again (Matt Redman) – This is an older song by Matt & the first time I’ve ever heard it done in a worship set.  Great communion song!
  2. Hosanna (Brooke Fraser)
  3. Your Grace is Enough (Matt Maher)

Well, that’s how things went at Seacoast this weekend.  How was your weekend service?

  1. I love the song “Once again”. I first heard it a few years ago in Uganda when our church was going through it’s unique version of the worship wars. It touched me then, and it still touches me now.
